For small businesses

Your business is good.
Your website should make that obvious.

Websites, branding, search, social and advertising, designed as one system by senior product designers. Start with one piece or the whole thing.

Who this is for

Businesses that are better in person than they look on a screen.

Interior designers, builders, contractors, architects, salons, med spas, dentists, consultants and professional services. Established businesses with an outdated site, and new ones that need to look established from the first week.

UX Signal Studio is a senior-led design studio. The same people who design software used by millions build your website, your brand and the way customers find you.

What we see

We review over 1,000 small business websites a year.
The same six things go wrong.

No obvious way to get in touch

The phone number is in the footer, the form is three clicks deep, and there is nothing to tap on a phone. Interested people leave.

Unclear what the business actually does

Headlines like Welcome To Our Website. A visitor cannot tell in five seconds what you do, who you do it for, or whether you cover their area.

Stock photos instead of real work

Generic imagery on a business whose entire value is the quality of its work. The one thing that would win the job is missing.

Falls apart on a phone

Text too small to read, buttons too close together, layouts that scroll sideways. Most of your customers are arriving this way.

Slow to load

Full-size photos straight off a camera, loaded all at once. People give up before the first image appears, and search engines notice.

Invisible in local search

No Google Business Profile, no service areas, no location signals. The business does not appear when someone nearby searches for it.

None of this is a design problem on its own. It is a business problem that happens to show up on a website. That is the part we fix first.

Build your plan

What are you trying to accomplish?

Four quick questions. Nothing is selected for you, and you will see the price before you give us anything.

  1. Your goal
  2. Our recommendation
  3. Your services
  4. Your estimate

Step 1 of 4

Which of these sounds most like you?

Selected website directions

See what your business could look like.

One live client site and two design directions. Every site we build is designed for one business, so these are here to react to: more like this, less like that.

/* A scaled, inert view of the real concept page, so the card can never drift from what the preview actually opens. Sized at 400% and scaled to .25 so it fits any tile width without JS. */

Meetologie Homes

A design studio whose whole value is the quality of the work, so the work leads. Large photography, a calm serif voice, and a consultation booking that is never more than a tap away.

A grid that behaves like a drawing set. Minimal color, precise type, and project pages that read as case studies rather than image dumps.

One system, not five vendors

Five freelancers cannot build one business.

The usual way

  1. Brand designer
  2. Website freelancer
  3. SEO person
  4. Social contractor
  5. Ads agency

Five people who have never spoken. The logo does not match the site, the site does not match the ads, and nobody is responsible for whether any of it works.

UX Signal Studio

  1. One strategy
  2. One visual system
  3. One website
  4. One customer journey
  5. One growth system

One team, one plan, one person accountable. Everything is designed to hold together because it was designed at the same time.

Why UX Signal

Product thinking, applied to your entire business.

Most small business websites get treated as decoration: pick a template, add photos, done. We treat yours the way we treat software used by millions of people.

Products used by millions. Now building for you. Every engagement is senior-led, with no junior designers and no handoffs.

How we work

Four steps, no mystery.

  1. 01

    Understand your business

We learn what you do, who buys from you, who you are competing against, and what is getting in the way right now. Usually one call and a look at what you already have.

  2. 02

    Build the system

Brand, messaging, website and the way customers find you are designed together, in that order, so nothing contradicts anything else.

  3. 03

    Launch

We build it, test it on real devices, connect analytics, and check that the paths that matter work: finding you, understanding you, contacting you.

  4. 04

    Grow

Optional. If you want us to stay involved we keep improving search, the site, campaigns and content month to month.

Keep it growing

Build it once. Improve it continuously, if you want to.

Everything above is one-time work that stands on its own. If you would rather not think about it again, we can stay involved month to month. This is optional and always has been.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

How much does a small business website cost?

Our websites start at $4,000. That covers strategy, custom design, responsive build, contact forms, analytics, performance work and the technical SEO foundation. Larger sites, booking systems and ecommerce are scoped and quoted before we start. Every price on this page is a starting point, and you get a fixed quote before any work begins.

Can I hire you just for a website?

Yes. Plenty of businesses do exactly that. Nothing else on this page is required, and if we think you do not need one of the other services we will tell you.

Do I need branding too?

Not always. If you already have a logo and a look that works, we will use it and build the site around it. We suggest a brand refresh when the existing one is actively holding the business back, not by default.

Can you redesign my existing website?

Yes. That is most of this work. We look at what is already there, keep what is working, and rebuild the rest. Existing content and photography can usually carry over.

Do you build the website too, or only design it?

We build it. UX Signal Studio delivers production-ready front-end code rather than design files that someone else has to interpret. The people who design it are the people who build it.

Do you work with businesses outside San Francisco?

Yes. We are based in San Francisco and work with businesses across the US. The work happens over calls, email and shared documents, so where you are does not change what you get.

Can you help my business show up on Google?

We do the groundwork that makes it possible: Google Business Profile, Search Console, analytics, on-page SEO, metadata, local search fundamentals and a site structure search engines can read. Nobody can guarantee a ranking, and anyone who does is selling you something.

Do you manage Meta, Facebook and Instagram ads?

Setup and ongoing management are separate. The one-time Run My Ads service from $1,500 covers account setup, tracking, audiences, campaign structure and the first campaign. Continuous management is a monthly service starting at $1,000/mo.

Is advertising spend included?

No. Ad spend goes directly to Meta or Google on your own card and is never part of our fee. You control the budget and can change it whenever you want.

Can you manage everything after launch?

If you want. Monthly growth support covers site and search care, content and social, ads management, or all of it as one Growth Partner engagement. It is entirely optional, and the launch work stands on its own.

How long does a website take?

It depends on the size of the site and how quickly content and photography come together. We give you a timeline with the fixed quote, before you commit, rather than a number we would have to walk back.

Is this a template website?

No. Every site is designed for one business. We show concept directions so you have something concrete to react to, but nothing is assembled from a theme.

What if I don't know what I need?

That is the normal starting point. Use the four options above to tell us what you are trying to accomplish and we will show you where we would start. On the call we will tell you honestly if something is not worth doing yet.
