PageLint vs UX Signal Studio: Two Free Landing Page Checks Compared
If you searched for a free way to check a landing page, you probably found PageLint. It is a focused tool, it is quick, and it is free to try. You may also have found our Free UX Scan. They look similar at first glance, since both take a URL and return findings. They answer different questions, so here is how to pick between them, and when to use both.
Everything we say about PageLint comes from its own public pages, linked inline, and reflects them as of November 2026. We have not judged how accurate its scores are, and we will not.
What PageLint does
PageLint describes itself on its home page as a landing page copy audit for SaaS founders. As of November 2026 the page says:
- You paste a URL and get a free copy score in 60 seconds, with no signup.
- The free quick audit runs 16 checks across two lenses, Clarity and Trust, and cites each finding to a named source such as Ogilvy, Cialdini, Schwartz, or CXL.
- The full report is a one-time $29 and covers 55 checks across 9 lenses, with three paste-ready versions of your hero (headline, subhead, button) and a proof block.
- A Pro plan at $19 a month includes 10 full audits a month plus audit history.
- Free quick audits are not stored, and full-audit results are cached for 30 days, per its FAQ.
That is a clear product with a clear price list.
What our free scan does
The UX Scan form takes a URL and an email. A written report arrives by email within 48 hours with up to 3 priority fixes, and no call is needed. The page says an AI applies our framework to captured website evidence.
There is also an instant path. The connector returns a one-line verdict, a score for each rubric area (first five seconds, positioning, call to action, visual credibility, trust), the strongest finding with a quote and a fix, and a link to request the full written report. It is free with no sign-in, limited to 6 scans an hour per network. It renders one public page at desktop width and reads visible text above the fold and one scroll down. It does not log in, click through, or return screenshots.

Pick PageLint if
- Your main question is whether your copy is clear and believable, and you want it answered in a minute.
- You want paste-ready headline and subhead rewrites in the full report.
- You like each finding tied to a named source you can look up.
- You will audit repeatedly, for example after every copy change, and a monthly plan fits that habit.
- You want a low-cost, self-serve tool and no human in the loop.
For fast, repeatable copy checks at a low price, PageLint is a strong fit.
Pick UX Signal Studio if
- You want a view that goes beyond copy: whether the page looks credible, whether the call to action is obvious, and whether a stranger would trust it.
- You want a written report to share with a teammate, with a short, ranked list of fixes.
- You want a path to a person afterward. Our paid Website UX Audit and Product UX Audit cover page-by-page and flow-level review.
- Your problem might be navigation, flows, or product screens, which a copy audit does not cover.
When both help
The two tools overlap less than they seem to. A practical routine:
- Run PageLint on your hero and key sections after each copy edit.
- Run the connector for a different angle on the same page.
- Where the two disagree, read the quoted line on your page and decide yourself. Our guide to reading scan results covers how.
- When you keep seeing the same issue, ask a person, since a tool cannot tell you why visitors leave.
What neither tool can do
No automated check replaces watching real people use your page. PageLint's own FAQ says that after a page passes its checks, the next step is testing with real conversion data. We agree. Our posts on what an automated scan catches and misses and on UX audits vs A/B testing explain where checks end and evidence begins.
A fair way to choose
Run both on the same page and compare. Check each finding against what you can see yourself. Keep the tool whose findings you could act on in an afternoon. The cost is a few minutes.
Run the Free UX Scan for a written report by email within 48 hours with up to 3 priority fixes, or use the connector for an instant read, limited to 6 scans an hour.
